A recent report has revealed that Yemeni forces killed and injured dozens of Saudi soldiers in the kingdom’s southwestern border regions in June as part of their retaliatory raids against the US-Saudi-led coalition regime’s aerial bombardment campaign.

According to military source, the Sniper Unit shot dead 595 of US-Saudi-led coalition paid fighters, destroyed 19 different military vehicles, military equipment and burned weapons stores during June 2018.

The source pointed out that the Sniper Unit carried out 10 deadly sniper operations for Saudi soldiers and officers, while 14 US-Saudi -led coalition paid fighters from Sudanese army were killed and 8 others were wounded .The largest share of the sniper operations was on the fronts of Marib, Nehm and Jouf, where 259 paid fighters were killed. While the West Coast Front was the second with 122 foreign and Yemeni paid fighters.

A total of 121 paid fighters were killed in sniper attacks on the central front, while 93 soldiers, Saudi officers and paid fighters were killed in Sniper Unit operations on the frontier.

The Saudi Press Agency asserted that only 26 soldiers had been killed in clashes with Yemeni forces.

In March 2015, the-US-Saudi-led coalition — started  a war against Yemen with the declared aim of crushing the Houthi Ansarullah movement, who had taken over from the staunch Riyadh ally and fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, while also seeking to secure the Saudi border with its southern neighbor. Three years and over 600,000 dead and injured Yemeni people and  prevented the patients from travelling abroad for treatment and blocked the entry of medicine into the war-torn country, the war has yielded little to that effect.

Meanwhile, a journalist and political commentator has lambasted the international community over its failure to put an end to the devastating US-Saudi-led coalition campaign against Yemen.
