Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, chairman of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee, has met on Sunday with newly elected members of parliament in the presence of Speaker Yahya Ali al-Ra’i and the Presidium of the House of Representatives.

In the meeting, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi welcomed the new members who represent a qualitative addition to the House of Representatives, noting the success of these elections and the democratic process.

“Blessings upon you, the President of the Council and the Presidency, and we are happy with the new members,” he said.

Al-Houthi noted that these elections were a previous entitlement and that the House of Representatives was entitled to call for such elections without any interference from anyone, noting the remarkable success of these elections despite the present circumstances and foreign imperialist aggression.

“We hope that you will be at the level of responsibility in preserving the nation and that your first and last interest will be the homeland,” he said.

“What the others are doing is the result of the silence that has been given to them because of the holding of these elections, which is a democratic right,” he said.

The chairman expressed his hope that the new members will be at a high level of responsibility, confirming that he would always stand by their side and support them.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives for his part noted that the results of the elections for the vacant seats were excellent, despite the circumstances which the country is going through.

He stressed that the aggressors target everyone without exception and does not differentiate between anyone.

Yahya Ali al-Ra’i furthermore clarified that the enemies of Yemen have worked to illegally form a false “parliament” in order to try giving legitimacy to the aggressors and invaders of Yemen, and pointed out that the attempt to “clone the Parliament” in Saudi-occupied Sayoun city was made due to the announcement of the Yemeni elections to fill vacant seats in the real Parliament in Sana’a.

“We are all in one front and the aggressors are trying to buy people with money. Thank God they can’t buy the country, just as they didn’t succeed in buying you or buying us,” he said.

“We have to be with the nation and take into account the fighters on the fronts and their families,” he added.

He urged the new members to take into account their constituents when meeting in the chambers of parliament, especially in these difficult circumstances.
