The Yemeni army and popular committees forces on Saturday have launched a large-scale attack on sites of Saudi-hired mercenaries in Jawf province in northern Yemen, a military official told Saba News Agency.
According to the official, the battle which took place in Salabah Valley of Khub Washaef district has left dozens of Saudi-hired mercenaries dead and wounded.
The official confirmed that the army forces seized weapons in large numbers during the attack.
Earlier in the day, dozens of Saudi-hired mercenaries were killed and wounded when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded during their attempts to advance towards Khalifin and Sabrain fronts of Khub Washaaf district.
