Mohammed Ali al- Houthi, member of the Supreme Political Council of Yemen, has on Thursday commented on the deadly airstrikes carried out by the United Arab Emirates air forces against the Saudi-backed forces in Abyan and Aden province, in which dozens of soldiers and mercenaries were killed and wounded.

“The UAE statement about its airstrikes on Aden proves that it was impromptu, and seems to lack coordination with Saudi Arabia,” Mohammed Ali al- Houthi said on Twitter on Thursday.

“The statement, in which the UAE described its airstrikes on Aden as self-defence, also shows to the public that the UAE is abandoning its ally,” he added, referring to the exiled government of former president Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi, who is residing in Riyadh.

Al-Houthi concluded his message by referring to an earlier message he posted seven months ago in which he spoke of major differences within the coalition.

“There are great differences between the mercenaries and the invaders’ countries. If they continue, you will see great results,” he wrote.

“This is a natural result, showing that the mercenaries should not be granted any rights or power.”
