Member of the Supreme Political Council Mohammed Ali al-Houthi has congratulated Tunisia and its new elected president Kais Saied.
“We extend our sincere congratulations to the Tunisian people for the success of the presidential elections, and we congratulate His Excellency Tunisian President Kais Saied on his victory.”
“We wish the people of Tunisia good progress under the new government, hoping that they will take sides in the issues of the nation in practice as expressed by the elected president, and in keeping with the aspirations of the people,” al-Houthi said.
Kais Saied is a former professor of constitutional law who won Tunisia’s presidential election, far ahead of his rival, the controversial businessman Nabil Karoui, according to a poll published by Tunisian state television.
