Member of the Supreme Political Council Mohammed Ali al-Houthi has praised the vigilance of the Yemeni navy and coast guard and their  seizing  of three foreign ships that violated Yemen’s territorial waters.

He assured the safety of the three crews, explaining that they are subject to legal procedures.

The Yemeni Coast Guard, under the Ministry of the Interior, has officially announced that it has seized 3 foreign ships, one of them being a Saudi tanker named “Rabigh-3”, just three miles from the Yemeni Island Abqan in the Red Sea. The move came in a statement issued on Monday night.

“The three ships have been taken to the Salif pier, in order for us to take legal procedures and address the relevant authorities,” the statement said.

Al-Houthi added that “there is a suspicion, and the Yemeni Coast Guard is doing its job to ascertain it, that the ships [originally] belong to the countries of aggression or to South Korea.”.

“If the ships are South Korea, they will be released after legal proceedings are completed, as in any similar case in Yemen’s territorial waters. We assure everyone that they should have ml worries about the crew.”

The Yemeni Coast Guard vowed that will spare no effort in taking all measures to protect Yemeni waters, and promised to “reveal the details of this security achievement as soon as investigations and legal proceedings are completed.”
