OCHA: A child dies every eleven minutes

The United Nations warned on the repercussions of the continuing conflict in Yemen on childhood.

“The conflict is taking a heavy toll on childhood in Yemen,” the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said in a tweet on its Twitter account. A child dies every 11 minutes. ”

“45 percent of children who die are malnourished,” he said.

The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs renewed its call on all parties of the conflict to respect international humanitarian law and to refrain from targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.
