The city of Aden has witnessed a bloody series of assassinations carried out by tools loyal to the Saudi-Emirati occupation.

Local sources reported that a construction material dealer was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Monday afternoon.

According to the sources, two unknown gunmen on a motorbike fired at the owner of the shop Beit al-Dahan, a man named Mohsen al-Bayti, in the al-Sala neighborhood of Sheikh Othman district, killing him instantly.

The two gunmen fled the scene, one of the sources said.

On the same day, two unidentified gunmen assassinated a young man, Louay Abu Sara, in the same district.

On Sunday, unknown gunmen killed a security official in the southern port city of Aden, sources said.
They opened fire atthe director of the Mansoura criminal investigation department. The assassination took place when the director, Major Salah Hajiri, was in front of his house in Block 37 in Mansoura district. The major was taken to Saber Hospital, where he died.

On 25 January, Hajiri escaped an attempted assassination, when an explosive device was planted in his car.

Assassinations have returned at a high pace to Aden, and the rest of the southern provinces, since Saudi forces took over Aden following the withdrawal of UAE forces, which had been in control since the end of 2015.

Ever since, Aden has witnessed a string of assassinations and abductions, and the city remains the victim of unprecedented insecurity amid the tensions between the coalition forces – Saudi Arabia and the UAE, which seek to ensure their own interests are fulfilled.
