The head of the National Negotiating Delegation announced on Sunday that the Prisoners’ Affairs Committee has concluded a first-phase agreement to release more than a thousand prisoners by both sides, including Saudi and Sudanese troops.

Mohammed Abdulsalam said that the agreement was a translation of the implementation of the Stockholm agreement and the subsequent meetings and discussions with the United Nations.

The prisoner exchange agreement signed on Sunday between the delegations of Sana’a and Hadi’s Saudi-led puppet government in Montreux, Switzerland, stipulated the release of 1,081 prisoners from both sides as a first step, in the presence of the UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths and the representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Fabrizio Carboni.

The agreement included the release of 681 prisoners of the Yemeni army and Popular Committees, in exchange for 400 troops of the Saudi-led invaders, including 15 Saudi and four Sudanese soldiers, provided that the implementation process will start on the 15th of October.
