Parliament returns Services Committee’s report to competent committee for further study

The Parliament discussed on Sunday, in its session headed by the Speaker Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, the report of the Services Committee on collecting the percentage set at five percent of the value of each liter of “benzene-diesel” under Law No. (22) of 1995 and its amendments regarding the establishment of the Road Maintenance Fund.

In light of the discussion, the Parliament agreed to return the report to the relevant committee for further study and discussion with the competent government side, and to provide the Parliament with what will be reached.

The report included responses, clarifications and data provided by a number of ministers to the committee’s inquiries and what was stated in the matrix of government procedures regarding the collection of this percentage and when it was deposited to the account of the Roads Maintenance Fund, including the ministries of finance, oil and minerals, public works and roads.
