The national technical team of Safer oil tanker chaired by Eng. Khaled al-Maddani held a virtual meeting on Tuesday with the team of UN experts.
The video meeting, which gathered Oil and Minerals Minister Ahmed Dares, Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Ezzi, and the Office of the UN Envoy’s Office in Yemen, discussed the general framework to assess and repair the oil tanker of Safer, the floating oil storage.
The meeting also discussed aspects relating to the requirements necessary to carry out urgent repairs to the tanker.
For his part, al-Ezzi affirmed that the meeting was positive, expressing his hope that this positive cooperation continues.
He affirmed the keenness of the national authorities in Sanaa to provide all facilities in order to repair and maintain Safer tanker to bypass an environmental disaster in the Red Sea.
