Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh has been assassinated near Tehran on Friday, Tasnim News Agency reported.

Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, a scientist involved in Iran’s nuclear industry, was assassinated by unknown attackers, after they clashed with his bodyguards near Tehran on Friday.

Raja News said in a report that the scientist has been assassinated in Absard county near Damavand, 60 km east of Tehran.

Fakhrizadeh was reportedly the only Iranian scientist that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had cited by name as target of Zionist plots. The Zionist regime’s media has admitted that several assassination attempts to kill him have previously failed.

Iranian nuclear physicists and other scientific personnel specialised in the field of nuclear energy have been prime targets of Zionist and US assassination plots for years.
