Minister of Transport in Sanaa, Abdel Wahab Al-Durra, called on the United Nations to operate daily flights to Amman and Cairo.

The minister renewed in a statement the demand of the UN envoy to Yemen, that daily flights should be operated to Amman and Cairo through Sana’a International Airport, given the increasing need of travelers, especially patients, during the remainder of the humanitarian truce.

“As soon as Yemenia Airlines opened the reservation door for the Friday flight, May 27, all the seats have been filled within 15 minutes, including 80 sick cases, and all the seats have been reserved for the return flight from Amman to Sana’a,” he added.

Al-Durra indicated that the reason for the shortage of passengers during the previous two flights from Jordan was the cancellation of the first flight, which was scheduled for April 24, according to the humanitarian truce, which led to the departure of some travelers.
