At least twenty people were killed and 104 others were injured in traffic accidents in the first quarter of this year in Mahweet province, the director general of traffic, Ziad al-Nono told Security Media on Friday.
Al-Nono said that 20 people were killed, including six children and a woman, 63 seriously injured, including 12 children and 41 slightly injured due to traffic accidents in the first quarter.
According to a report issued by the Traffic Department, the total material losses resulting from these accidents amounted to 43 million and 730 thousand Riyals.
The report attributed the reasons for these accidents to excessive speed, lack vehicles’ maintenance and negligence of drivers and others reasons.
