The Meteorological Centre in Aden province has confirmed that a deep atmospheric depression is underway in the southeast of the Arabian Sea, which is likely to develop into a tropical storm within the next 24 hours.
A tropical storm is already running along the western Indian coasts and moving northwest towards Pakistan and the coast of Oman.
The Centre said on Monday that strong southwest monsoon winds are beginning to reach more than 35 knots on the coast of al-Mahrah, Hadramout, Socotra and the Gulf of Aden.
The institute warned fishermen and sea-goers to take precautions and to avoid swimming, stating that there is a free wave coming from the Arabian Peninsula.
The heat increases accompanying the stom may expose citizens to severe direct sun strikes, the Centre added.
The overall atmosphere will be clear on the coastal areas, with seasonal rainstorm clouds on some mountainous heights and a possible rainy thunderstorm on Socotra as a result of the wet tide
