May 24th, the Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf Abdulla met in Sana’a the representatives of Swiss Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Dr. Hassan Miyak.
During the meeting, they reviewed the effects of the Saudi-American aggression and blockade imposed on Yemen since two years ago, especially in the health sector.
The Minister lauded the humanitarian role played by the Swiss Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) mission and its partnership, expressing readiness to provide all facilities to the mission so that it can perform its functions as required in the health field in Yemen.
He stressed on the importance of the continued pressure from international organizations and non-governmental organizations on the Saudi-led coalition to open Sana’a international airport to civil and commercial traffic to alleviate the humanitarian situation and rapid access to medical assistance.
In his part, Dr. Miyaki pointed out to the efforts of the mission in Yemen, which is going through the world’s largest humanitarian crisis, noting that the mission will spare no effort in supporting public health aspects, in particular with regard to cholera outbreak.
