May 20th, the Foreign Minister, Hisham Sharaf Abdullah met the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation Delegation headed by the Head of the Water and Environmental Status Unit Mark Andrey Ponsel in Sana’a.
During the meeting, they discussed the repercussions of the cholera outbreak in several provinces of Yemen as well as the treatments that can be done in the areas of maintaining, treatment and distribution of water, especially the treatment plant in al-Rawda’a area.
the Foreign Minister stressed on the need for immediate opening of Sana’a International Airport to facilitate the arrival of emergency medical assistance and medical teams needed for the efforts to combat cholera.
He also pointed out that the constant of aggression and Blockade contributed greatly to deteriorating the humanitarian situation in Yemen that had been described as the world’s worst crisis by United Nations.
