Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf met the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Sana’a, Jamie McGoldrick.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister handed over the United Nations Resident Coordinator three letters addressed to UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
The letters emphasized the sovereign right of the Republic of Yemen to defend and preserve the sovereignty and territorial integrity of its territory, clarifying that the aggression forces carry out illegal practices in a number of occupied lands and islands of Yemen, ignoring international laws.
The meeting addressed the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Yemen, particularly with the spread of cholera and the activities carried out by United Nations and the organizations, agencies and programs regarding cholera outbreak.
The UN Resident Coordinator emphasized on the importance of reaching a political solution to address the deteriorating humanitarian situation.
