The head of the Supreme Political Council Saleh al-Samad met on Tuesday the Executive Director of the World Food Program, UNICEF Executive Director and the Executive Director of the World Health Organization.

During the meeting, they discussed the efforts of the UN international organizations in Yemen to face the worsening humanitarian situation resulting from the US-Saudi-led aggression coalition and the unjust blockade imposed on the Yemeni people by Saudi regime since three years, including the closure of ports, airports and targeting roads, bridges, farms and water wells by the US F-16 aircrafts and British ammunitions.

The meeting also dealt with the targeting of the Yemeni national economy and the cutoff of salaries that expose more than 25 million Yemenis to famine.

Al-Samad expressed his thanks and appreciation to the UN organizations and all other humanitarian organizations working in the humanitarian field in Yemen, confirming the government’s continuation to provide all support and cooperation to all humanitarian organizations to facilitate their tasks.

“The Saudi-American aggression and blockade on Yemen are the main obstacles to the donors of United Nations organizations, which prevents the international media and its means to reach Yemen so that its heinous crimes against civilians and civil targets in all provinces won’t be revealed, as well as to ensure that world public opinion does not know what is happening in Yemen in which the human rights and international humanitarian law massively are being violated,” The head of the Supreme Political Council said

“The barbaric crimes and massacres committed by al-Qaida and ISIS, especially in the southern areas which are under the KSA-UAE the occupation threaten the social peace and security in Yemen, in which the last incident was the beheading of four prisoners,” he added

In their parts, the UN officials briefed to al-Samad a short summary on the humanitarian, health and nutritional situation in Yemen and difficulties encountered, particularly in the collection of grants and assistance from donors of United Nations organizations as well as their visions to address those difficulties that hinder their tasks, confirming that they will continue to combat the outbreak of Cholera and other diseases.
