The Human Rights Minister Alya Faisal Abdullatif met the official the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) office in Yemen Leith al-Amoud.
During the meeting, they discussed a number of human rights issues as well as the British Supreme Court’s refusal a lawsuit filed to stop arms sales to Saudi Arabia, which it used to kill Yemeni civilians .
The meeting also dealt with the secret prisons in the southern and eastern provinces run by the aggression’s states headed by the UAE and Saudi Arabia and the cases of torture and enforced disappearance of many citizens.
Alya Faisal Abdullatif condemned these actions carried out by a country calling for democracy and claiming the protection of human rights, stressing that there are hundreds of local and international reports that have condemned Britain and have proved with no doubt that those bombs used in the raids that killed civilians are British-made and they are prohibited to sell and use internationally.
In his part the official the High Commissioner for Human Rights confirmed that officials for the Yemeni file in the High Commissioner are in consultations since yesterday to discuss the court’s decision and the arms deal and they will have a position will be announced soon.
He pointed out that the Office of the High Commissioner in Yemen deals with human rights violations in a neutral and professional human rights violations and follows up on the existence of secret detention centers in the southern and eastern provinces, stressing that the Commission will take the necessary measures in this regard in coordination with the Ministry.
