WHO: Cholera Death Cases Rise in Yemen To 1997

The World Health Organization (WHO) on Saturday reported 22 new deaths from cholera in Yemen over the past five days, bringing the total death toll since April 27 to 1997.

A total of 527,470 suspected cholera cases have been registered in Yemen since April 27, with 1997 deaths, 22 deaths and 24,000 cases, a WHO report said.

It added that the city of Sana’a and the province of Hodeida, still one of the most prevalent provinces of cases of the epidemic, where each recorded more than 62 thousand cases.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said in a report on Monday that half a million and 3,000 cases of cholera in Yemen had been recorded, with a total of 1975 deaths.
