President of the Supreme Political Council, Saleh al-Samad met today, the UN Resident Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, Jaime Macgoldrick in Sana’a.
During the meeting, President al-Samad praised the role and responsible attitude of the United Nations through the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those affected and displaced by the aggression and the unjust blockade.
“Your positions have been the most positive aspect of United Nations programmes that have conveyed the sufferings of the Yemenis to the world ,” he said in the meeting.
“Your positions will continue to be engraved in the hearts of every Yemeni, and we hope to continue to communicate after you leave and to be the voice of Yemen abroad,” he added.
He stressed that the Yemeni people would continue to remember Mr. Macgoldrick and his constructive efforts in such complex and difficult circumstances that UN and its Humanitarian Coordinator, along with the Yemeni people remained in its present ordeal.
In his part, the UN humanitarian coordinator expressed his gratitude to the President, Government and Yemeni people, and the appreciation extended during his work, as well as the facilities provided to international organizations, primarily the United Nations, for their humanitarian activity.
“Thank you, Your Excellency, for giving us this opportunity despite your concerns and appreciate the great cooperation with the organizations and the humanitarian aspect,” Macgoldrick said.
“Our experience on the human side has been very useful despite the difficulties and I hope that cooperation with the new envoy will be at the same level of relationship, understanding and communication,” he added.
