UNICEF condemned the Saudi attack on the water project of the in the directorate of Sohar in Sa’ada that resulted in the total destruction,
the aggression aircraft targeted last week by air strikes the water project that stopped the water to the population .
This is the second time in which the Project is targeted by the aggression since 2015 .
UNICEF said that the project, implemented in 2017, serves 7,500 people and displaced people in dire need of water in that area
UNICEF’s Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Khairat Kabalari, said that UNICEF implemented the Hamzat water project in 2015 and was destroyed but in 2017 the organization rebuilt it for the population and provided clean and safe water before it was destroyed again last week .
More than eight million children in Yemen are unable to access clean water, UNICEF said.
Yemen is one of the most water-scarce countries, and access to clean drinking water has become extremely costly for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged .
