Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Ezzi on Tuesday discussed with head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mission in Sanaa, Franz Rauchenstein, the developments of humanitarian situation in Yemen.

In the meeting, al-Ezzi reviewed the disastrous effects of the recent escalation of Saudi-led coalition countries in Hodeidah province on the humanitarian situation and peace efforts.

Al-Ezzi touched on the coalition’s crimes against prisoners from the Yemeni army, the latest of which was the killing of the prisoner Ahmed Hassan al-Sharif under torture in prisons of the coalition militias in Jawf province.

He called on the concerned international organizations to visit prisons of the coalition to learn about the difficult humanitarian conditions the prisoners suffer.

He praised the efforts of the ICRC mission in Yemen, especially in the file of prisoners and the health aspect, confirming the government’s readiness to provide all facilitates for the mission and its workers.

Rauchenstein said that the Committee would present all possible support for Yemen to contribute to alleviating the humanitarian crisis experienced by the Yemeni people.
