The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said that the war in Yemen has deprived 8.6 million children of access to water, sanitation and hygiene services .
“Every child must have the access to clean water and to be protected from waterborne diseases, such as cholera,” the organization said in a tweet on its Yemen office page .
The World Health Organization announced yesterday that more than 11 million Yemeni children, who make up 80 percent of the country’s children, need humanitarian assistance .
