A number of Saudi-hired mercenaries were killed and others were wounded on Saturday in an attack carried out by the Yemeni army and popular committees on their positions in Al-Jawf province, northern Yemen, while the engineering unit destroyed two military pick-ups loaded with mercenaries in the same province, a military official told Saba News Agency.

According to the official, the army and the popular committees launched an offensive operation targeting mercenary positions in Waqz front in al-Maslub district, leaving mercenaries dead and wounded in large numbers.
The engineering unit of the army destroyed two militry pick-ups with explosives devices on the Khalifin front in Khub Washaef, killing and injuring all their crew members, the official added.
On Friday, the engineering units managed to destroy a military vehicle of mercenaries in Yatamah front of the same district, killing and injuring those on board.
