The Yemeni army and popular committees have on Saturday launched large attacks on military positions of mercenaries loyal to Saudi-led coalition in Ma’rib province, a military official told Saba News Agency.
According to the official, the attacks were carried out from two tracks in which a military vehicle loaded with mercenaries was destroyed by an improvised explosive device, planted by the Yemeni army’s engineering unit, in Harib Nihem district.
The official said that dozens of the mercenaries were killed and wounded in the attack. The source also indicated that eight mercenaries were killed in sniper fire that took place during the attack.
Meanwhile, the artillery unit of the army shelled gatherings and reinforcements of the militants in the same district, causing more direct casualties.
