The Yemeni army’s spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sarie has confirmed that “the army and popular committees did not carry out any military operations in the province of Hadramout during the past few hours.”
These remarks are contrary to what was claimed by the US-backed coalition led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates that Hadramout province was exposed to alleged attack.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, Brig. Gen. Sarie refuted the coalition’s claims about the downing of a drone belonging to the Yemeni army forces in the sky of Hadramout.
“The aim of the enemy fabrications, as the Yemeni people know, especially the people of Hadramout, is the occupation,” the spokesman said.
He added that “the aggression coalition seeks to create excuses and justifications for sending more military forces to Hadramout, which has never witnessed any confrontations since March 26, 2015.”
