Saudi occupation forces on Friday afternoon deployed gunboats on the shores of the occupied province of Al Mahrah, in eastern of Yemen, local sources reported.
According to the sources, Saudi gunboats have been deployed on the coast of the Hawf district, which is witnessing popular protests overturning of Hawf district, “which is a natural UNESCO World Heritage Site”, to a military barracks by Saudi occupation troops.
Four boats carrying weapons and soldiers arrived on the coast of Hawf on Friday, one of the sources said.
“The gunboats came without any coordination with the security authorities in the Hawf district,” said Hatem Amer Makki, general director of Hawf District, told Al-Mahra post.
The Saudi forces established a few months ago an observation tower on the shores of Hawf district, near a Saudi forces barracks, which was built last year.
On Thursday, the Hawf district witnessed a protest against the recent Saudi moves in the district, followed by an open sit-in in front of the gate of Sarifat international shipping ports starting on Friday afternoon, organised to demand the departure of the Saudi militias and their armored vehicles, as well as the handing over of the port to the army and security forces of the Yemeni province.
