Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi has rejected the participation of the World Food Program’s (WFP) provision of rotten relief products.

“We tell the organizations to replace their rotten food aid by cash payment, and we are in favour of a mechanism that secures real control according to the law,” al-Houthi said in a thread of tweets on Monday, referring to the World Food Program.

“The executive director of the WFP should listen carefully to our rejections of the rotten food,” he said, commenting on the repeated cases of World Food Program’s rotten supplies sent as humanitarian aid to Yemen.

“Justice does not allow the purchase of rotten food. We demand right and transparent procedures that don’t violate the laws of the Republic of Yemen,” he added.

Mohammad al-Houthi indicated that the statements of the World Food Program are but an attempt to cover up the corruption of its aid.

“The statements and fabrications that are being made in order to decorate the image of the countries of aggression, forget about the cause of the famine they are making,” he said.
