The Shura Council’s defense and Security Committee continued its meeting on Sunday headed by Speaker of the Council Mohammed al-Aidarous on Saturday reviewing the difficulties facing the Coast Guard.
The meeting addressed the challenges faced by the Coast Guard in fulfilling its tasks and objectives within the framework of laws and public interest.
The meeting also discussed the tasks assigned to the members of the Defence and Security Committee regarding preparing a report on the Coast Guard Department, which would contribute to fulfillment of the tasks set out in accordance with the laws.
During the meeting, the President of the Shura Council stressed the importance of concerted efforts and cooperation of relevant authorities to enhance performance of Coast Guard and improve its work.
He said the Shura Council continued to support the official authorities to confront the aggression and overcome the devastating effects of the blockade.
