The Yemen army and popular committees repelled a large-scale attack carried out by mercenaries hired by Saudi-led aggression coalition in Hodeidah province, western Yemen a military official told Saba News Agency.
According to the official, the mercenaries tried to advance towards Jabaliah area in Tuhitah district of the west coast, but were foiled by the army and popular committees, causing heavy casualties on their ranks.
The army forces destroyed a military vehicle and burned an armored vehicle during the counterattack, the official added.
The official indicated that “this infiltration attempt is new escalation and violation of the agreement of Sweden.”
