Thousands in Yemen’s southern province of Socotra have protested on Saturday against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) occupation’s military presence in the province.
During the march, the protesters stressed the importance of enhancing the authority of the local authority in order to confront the UAE-backed militias that have been targeting the security of the province.
The demonstrators raised the Yemen flag and banners with slogans rejecting the UAE’s plots of spreading chaos and destabilisation.
The Saudi-led coalition, including the UAE, has been launching a military operation against Yemen’s sovereign government since March 26, 2015, in flagrant violation of international conventions.
