The United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, expressed his sadness at the recent military action that has killed dozens of civilians, including children, as another “tragic event.”
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the UN envoy called on all parties to seize the opportunity and abide by it.
“I urge everyone to take concrete and quick steps to reduce violence, respect international humanitarian law and create an enabling environment that will allow Yemen to resume the political process without delay,” he said.
The Special Envoy reiterated that resolving the war in Yemen is a political settlement based on partnership, neighborly relations and state-building.
The Saudi-American aggression carried out raids in the governorates of Amran and Dhale during the past few days, which resulted in the death of 22 citizens, including women and children.
