A brigade commander in the Islah-militia and loyal to Hadi forces was wounded Thursday in an ambush in the occupied Abyan province.
Local sources said that the militia of the so-called “Security Belt”loyal to the UAE occupation ambushed the convoy of the commander of the so-called Fourth Brigade “Presidential Protection” named Mehran while passing through the main road from Aden towards Shabwa.
The sources said that a number of dead and wounded were escorted in the custody of al-Qubati while he managed to escape despite his “moderate” injury.
Since last August, the fate of al-Qubati, like other commanders of Hadi’s militia, remained unknown, especially after the headquarters of brigade was stormed in Darsa’ad and his house was raided in the same area.
Al-Qubati is one of the most prominent Salafi leaders who have thrown thousands of deceived on the northern border fronts and returned to Aden as tensions between the UAE and Saudi militias escalated in recent weeks.
