The United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths, has praised the results of his meeting with the Leader of the Revolution Sayyid Abdul-Malik al-Houthi on Monday

He said on Twitter that he “had a constructive meeting with Abdul-Malik Al Houthi earlier today”, adding that they “discussed efforts to defuse tensions in Yemen and to prepare the ground for the resumption of the political process.”

During the meeting, Leader of the Revolution Sayyid Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi said that the aggression and blockade would not bring peace to Yemen and the region.

The Sayyid affirmed that the current stage Yemen is going through and the catastrophic effects left by the Saudi-led coalition aggression and siege “have proved that the military option and economic blockade cannot achieve peace in Yemen or in the region.”

He stressed the importance of stopping the aggression, lifting the siege completely and conducting urgent humanitarian treatments at various levels, especially in the file of prisoners and detainees
