Member of the Supreme Political Council Mohamed Ali al-Houthi has reminded the Saudi-led aggression coalition and the UAE of the fate of the British empire and its occupation of southern Yemen.

“The continuation of the invasion and aggression with the 56th anniversary of the Revolution of October 14 has an important signal to the Yemeni people to remember the martyr’s heroes and great revolutionaries who rejected the occupation,” Mohammed Ali al-Houthi said in a tweet on Sunday.

He continued addressing the Saudi-UAE coalition War, saying that the 56th anniversary of the October 14 Revolution of 1963, when the British colony of South Yemen revolted against the colonial occupation, “confirms that the occupier cannot stay, no matter how powerful they are, and that the mercenary cannot protect the occupier even if they are coerced”.

On October 14, 1963, the Yemenis of the British colony known as the Aden Protectorate revolted against their imperialist rulers. Led by the National Liberation Front and the Front for the Liberation of Occupied South Yemen, the revolutionaries won the independence of South Yemen in 1967, establishing the Democratic People’s Republic of Yemen, which eventually merged with the Yemen Arab Republic in 1990 to form the united Republic of Yemen.
