A conference was organized by “Solid Onlus”, which is a humanitarian independent organization in Rome, the capital of Italy on Friday under the title “Mediterranean in solidarity”.
The conference started with a speech from the President of “Solid Onlus”, Ada Oppedisano, who discussed the importance of solidarity among nations close to the Mediterranean Sea.
The speakers were from Libya, Syria, Africa and Italy and the conference was moderated by Alberto Palladino, vice-president of “Solid Onlus”.
Among the speakers, Dr. Hanieh Tarkian talked about the war on Yemen and focused on the need to respect the right of sovereignty of the Yemeni people.
She also confirmed that the Yemeni people don’t want the Wahhabi ideology to be spread in their country and they want to be independent from foreign interference.
“Based on the United Nations Development Programmer’s report 80% of Yemeni people are in need of humanitarian aid. Based on another report victims of the war will raise to 233000 units by the end of 2019, among them 140000 children, ” she added.
She indicated that Saudi-led coalition launched more than 20000 air raids in 1600 days of war; this means 12 air raids every day.
There were around 50-60 participants all from Italy.
In a statement, all participants condemned the interference of countries like United States, France and Saudi Arabia on African countries, Syria and Yemen.
They confirmed that those countries are just looking for their own interests and not the people’s interests.
All the speakers of the conference agreed on the fact that people should support the nations who are looking for freedom and independence.
