Member of the Supreme Political Council Mohammed Ali al-Houthi on Friday in Sana’a met with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA)’s Director for the Middle East and North Africa George Khoury.
The meeting, which was attended by Secretary general of the Supreme Council for Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs Abdulmohsen Tawoos and OCHA’s director in Yemen, discussed the joint working mechanism between the council and the OCHA to implement the signed agreements and expedite the implementation of the multi-sector survey project (MCLA) in order to assess needs according to the reality of actual need.
The meeting stressed the necessity of proceeding with the implementation of everything that was previously agreed upon to move forward in the field of conducting humanitarian work and promoting it.
It was emphasized, during the meeting, on the need for the specialized organizations’ active role in combating epidemics and diseases such as malaria, dengue and others by working on providing the necessary needs for Cleaning and Improvement Funds in all provinces.
During the meeting, the UN official delivered a letter of thanks from the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock for the efforts made by the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs to facilitate the work of the organizations.
