Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Wednesday expressed Yemen’s appreciation for the efforts made by Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)’s delegation Franz Rauchenstein in strengthening the partnership between the National Salvation Government and the ICRC during his work in Yemen.
This came during the minister’s meeting with Rauchenstein on the occasion of the end of his tenure in Yemen.
During the meeting, Sharaf touched on the continuous deterioration of the humanitarian situation as a result of the aggression and the blockade imposed by Saudi-led coalition on Yemen for the sixth year in a row.
He affirmed that the Foreign Ministry continues to provide the necessary facilities for the work of the ICRC and its personnel.
For his part, Rauchenstein expressed his appreciation for the facilities provided by the Ministry and the rest of the concerned authorities to the ICRC delegation, confirming that the delegation will spare no effort to provide all aspects of support and assistance to the Yemeni people, especially in the current conditions they are going through.
