Bin Habtoor’s remarks came during his meeting with the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen Lise Grande in Sana’a.

The meeting discussed the implications of the oil derivatives crisis resulting from the collective punishment policy practiced by the coalition of the Saudi-Emirati aggression with international complicity on the Yemeni people by detaining ships holding UN licenses and preventing their access to Hodeidah port, as well as the direct effects of the crisis on the services sector, especially water, environment and energy.

The meeting touched on the effects of cutting back half of the UN major programmes in Yemen, and what this requires in terms of reconsideration and remedial work towards this sharp reduction. In addition to addressing the issue of employee salaries and the need for the United Nations to fulfill its duty to oblige the pro-aggression government to fulfill its commitment to pay salaries without discrimination, and to stop trading the benefits of simple employees.
