President Mahdi Al-Mashat held a meeting with Iran’s new ambassador on Wednesday to receive his credentials. Hassan Irloo began to serve as Iran’s new ambassador to Sana’a after submitting his letter of credence to top Yemeni authorities.
During the meeting, they discussed relations between the two countries and means of strengthening and developing them in a way that serves the common interests of the two brotherly countries.
President Al-Mashat welcomed the Iranian ambassador, wishing him a pleasant stay and success in his duties, stressing that the relevant agencies will provide him with all facilities to perform his duties. The ambassador had the usual ceremonies on such an occasion in the capital, Sana’a.
The ceremony of handing over the credentials was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Eng. Hisham Sharaf, the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, Hassan Sharaf al-Din, and Osama al-Shami, head of the Presidential Protocol.
The envoy had already submitted a copy of his credentials to the foreign minister of Yemen’s National Salvation Government.
