Health Minister: The WFP Should Meet Responsibilities towards Malnourished Patients

The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakel, stressed the importance of the World Food Program assuming its responsibilities towards malnourished patients, especially children and women.

The Minister of Health also stressed during his meeting today with the Executive Director of the World Food Program, David Beasley, the importance of immediate action to provide oil derivatives to hospitals, especially the Al Sabeen Maternity and the Childhood Hospital, in which some of its departments stopped working due to the exhaustion of fuel and the generator stopped working.

Dr. Al-Mutawakel and the UN official were briefed on the level of services at the Malnutrition Center, its needs, the difficulties facing the workflow, the shortage of intensive care rooms, ventilators, medicines, and oil derivatives (diesel).
