The Yemeni air defences have on Tuesday shot down a spy drone belonging to the Saudi-led coalition in Ma’rib province, the Yemeni army spokesman said in a statement.
Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e explained that the Yemeni air defence systems shot down a US combat drone of the type MQ9, while it was carrying out a hostile mission over airspace of the province. The drone was hit by a suitable missile, which has not been disclosed yet.
On March 7, the Yemeni air defences shot down a Turkish-made Karayel spy drone operated by the Saudi Air Forces, while it was carrying out hostile missions over the airspace of al-Maraziq area in Jawf province.
