The head of the Prisoners’ Affairs Committee, Abdul Qadir Al-Murtada, said in a tweet on his official page on social media that the Yemeni parties were preparing for prisoner exchanges operation to ease the prisoners’ suffering ahead of Eid Al-Adha, stressing that the Saudi ban prevented this from being achieved.

Al-Murtada pointed out that those he described as “mercenaries” are still committed to the Saudi ban.

Sana’a and Yemeni parties have succeeded during the last period in carrying out extensive prisoner exchange operations in the north and south with local mediations.

Those exchange operations angered Saudi Arabia, which is trying to keep the prisoner agreement exclusive to it to release its soldiers and other coalition officers at the expense of the Yemenis.
