Today, the first commercial flight left Sana’a International Airport for the Arab Republic of Egypt, carrying 78 passengers, after a hiatus of more than six years.
This is the seventh out of 16 flights included in the humanitarian truce announced by the United Nations in early April.
It is also the first flight heading to Cairo since the start of the armistice, and is of importance to Yemeni travelers in general and patients, especially those who suffer from chronic diseases and whose treatment in Yemen has failed due to the aggression and siege.
A number of passengers expressed their happiness with the first commercial flight to Cairo from Sana’a International Airport.
They pointed out that the handling and procedures for travel at Sana’a International Airport are sophisticated, professional and highly technical, according to the international requirements.
