Human rights circles stressed the need for a UN Security Council resolution to end the presence of foreign military forces in Yemen.

“A new Security Council resolution should also call for an end to the presence of foreign military forces on Yemeni territory, including the Socotra Archipelago and Perim or Myon Island, both of which are effectively occupied by Emirati forces ” research study said.

The study, prepared by researcher Hassan Al-Tayeb, legislative director for Middle East policy, reviewed the dangers of running out of time to extend the UN-Sponsored truce.
