The Ministry of Human Rights condemned on Monday the violations that a number of pilgrims were subjected to by the mercenaries of the US-Saudi aggression in Abyan province.
In a statement, the ministry confirmed that this criminal act constitutes a violation of all religious, social and tribal values of the Yemeni people, and a dangerous precedent and moral downfall aimed at offending the people of Abyan and Shabwa provinces and the Yemeni people in general.
The statement pointed out that these practices criminalized by heavenly legislation represent a flagrant violation of international law, human rights law, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil Rights, and all international legislation that guarantees freedom of movement for travelers and civilians.
The Ministry’s statement held the United Nations and the aggression and its mercenaries responsible for the lives and safety of pilgrims and all travelers and transport drivers as well.
It called on the United Nations to shoulder its responsibilities towards this crime and the previous killings, assault and looting of hundreds of travelers.
It stressed that the international silence regarding these violations and the lack of serious and responsible action to pressure the mercenaries of the aggression to stop these criminal practices against travelers and transport drivers.
The statement indicated that it is waiting for a clear international position in condemning this crime, criminalizing its perpetrators and those behind them, and prosecuting them, arresting them and bringing them to justice.
It called on al-Mahfad tribes and tribes of Abyan and Shabwa provinces and all free activists and human rights and humanitarian organizations to take an honorable position in solidarity with the pilgrims.
