Supreme Political Council reiterates demand for full payment of public sector salaries

Mahdi al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council (SPC) chaired on Monday a meeting of the Supreme Political Council.

The meeting reviewed with SPC members the latest political developments related to the armistice and the existing contacts.

It stressed the need to fully open Sana’a International Airport and Hodeida Port.

The meeting pointed out that the extension of the truce requires a commitment to pay the salaries of all employees and the rest of the services that the aggression cut which negatively double the suffering of the Yemeni people.

It stated that it had initiated the opening of a special account at the Central Bank branch in Hodeidah, and the revenues of the port of Hodeidah were transferred to it to contribute to the payment of salaries to all state employees, while the other party and the United Nations did not commit to filling the gap for the payment of salaries.

The meeting confirmed that the payment of salaries and pensions is a natural entitlement for all employees and retirees.

It condemned the desecration of the reporter of the 13th Zionist channel of Makkah, considering it a provocation to the feelings of Muslims.

Meanwhile, the meeting reviewed reports on government efforts to prepare for the rainy season, and to account and treat the damage caused by rain and torrential rain, which Yemen is witnessing these days.
