The Yemen Gas Company renewed on Monday the warning of using gas cylinders that do not have specifications and standards.
A statement issued by the YGC stated that through the incoming field reports and the field visits of the company’s employees to the markets to inspect the stability of the supply situation for domestic gas, it was noticed that new gas cylinders of unknown origin and non-conformity with specifications and standards pose a threat for the lives of citizens.
The statement pointed out that these reports indicated that many black market dealers had unloaded liquefied household gas from cylinders that have specifications to non-conforming cylinders, and that this was done in public places with unsafe tools and equipment.
It stressed that the buying gas from the black market and discharging gas from one cylinder to another in unsafe ways endangers citizens and public and private properties.
The statement pointed out that the company had previously directed all central gas stations not to fill gas cylinders that do not conform to specifications to guard them and not to circulate them, because of the danger they pose to citizens and public and private property.
The company renewed its demand to the relevant authorities not to allow the entry of gas cylinders that do not conform to specifications and standards, and to seize and confiscate them in order to preserve the safety of citizens.
